Shane sent me this link this morning to this amazing London-based fried chicken eatery called Wishbone, located in Brixton’s indoor market. It was designed by a company called Shed.
I like how bright and colourful it is and then how they have toned it down by using natural wood throughout. I also thing their logo is pretty spiffy too. If I ever find myself in London Town I’m definitely going to swing past to get me some fried chicken.
This is the work of London-born Kaye Blegvad who is an Illustrator, designer, general maker-of-things. and the proprietor of Datter Industries. She is all about documenting ideas, process, sketches, offcuts, snapshots, items of interest and finished work and she is damn good at what she does.
I’ve once before blogged about her amazing jewelry and I came across her site again the other day and saw some of her other work too, which I think is really interesting, so I decided to post up some of her drawings and clay pieces and some of my favourites from her jewelry range.
* Her hairy lady face reminds me of the embroidery I made of Shane a couple of years ago. I should buy a print of hr face and hang it up next to the one I made, would make a nice combo.
As you know my friend Nick and I have formed a small partnership together whereby we work on all sorts of things from branding to advertising to collateral design to interiors to plating people’s hair, if they feel that way inclined. Our whole mission is to work on cool projects that not only make the client happy (hopefully) but us too. Here is the 3rd project that we have just completed for a clever start-up company called Craftsman and Crate.

– Craftsman and Crate do corporate gifting right. As the brainchild of Alan Yates, an ex-corporate bored by the weak offering of existing gifting agencies, C & C creates a new range of gifts for hi-end corporates to choose from. Crates are delivered to clients filled with premium goods such as craft beers, cured meats, ceramics and other locally designed and locally produced goods. I worked with Angie Batis to create a visual identity for this startup. Images of crates and the website to be added soon.
This is the dark but quirky work of Stefan Zsaitsits who is a very talented artist based in Austria.
I really like his drawings, I like how they capture the personality of the subject in such a weird and unexpected way. I think they are really cool.
Look at this beautiful shop and the beautiful products that they stock. This place goes out of their way to get products with lovely old school designs and aesthetics. Wish we had a store like this in Illovo on the corner opposite my flat. I would be in it everyday buying up one of everything like a good little housewife.
