The other day when I went antique shopping in Pretoria with Shanie and this is what we came home with….
I saw this old tin circus train set and knew that I had to have it. Sure it’s a bit banged up and the seal is missing his ‘nose ball’, but I couldn’t leave it behind, the second I walked in I knew it would be leaving with me. I love how you can see that it’s previous owners loved the absolute crap out of it.
It seemed to be a day for toys, because I also bought this old tin cowboy gun. The embossed horse head on the handle did it for me.
I also picked up the toy house below for Stubs because I know how mush she loves dolls. It has a wind-up mechanism behind it, but it’s bust. Shame, I’m sure back in the day that little doll used to dance it’s little plastic heart out.
The last thing I bought was the biblical verse below. These are quite hard to find and they are normally quite pricey, but this one’s glass was all broken so I offered the lady R170 for it and she totally gave it to me. I was super amped. I’m just going clean it up a bit, replace the glass and then love it till the day I die.
