Levis and Me: Roger Sivuyile Lupuwana

April 18, 2013

Ok so we are 1 day late with the next instalment in our Levis and Me project, Andrew was on a plane but he’s back now and here is my next face – Roger Sivuyile Lupuwana. Roger is young and sweet and one of the nicest people I know. He is currently studying to become a creative TV/movie show maker he is also a waiter at The Good Luck Club in-between studying, so if you find him bringing you a twice fried beef you can give him a hello and a high-5.

Here is a link to last weeks interview if you missed it – Adi Koen

1. What city do you live in, and how long have you called it home? I was born in East London and now I live in Johannesburg, Ive called it home for about 7 years now.

2.What do you do? Im in my 3rd year of studying film at the University of Johannesburg, I also DJ with my best friend, Im currently working on a film called Carewood and I occasionally trash talk South African ‘celebrities’ on a show called 10 Over 10 on Vuzu… and I grow a moustache.

3. What is one of the raddest things you have done wearing a pair of jeans? Jump off a waterfall into a river at Hogsback in the Eastern Cape.

4. If you could live in someone else’s ‘jeans’ for a day who would that person be? Probably Pharrel Williams or Lady Gaga.

5. What is the one thing/person that influences your style the most? The streets, urban Johannesburg, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, music, indie culture if thats real. A bunch of stuff.

6. Would you rather the bottom half of your body constantly be river dancing or the top of half of your body forever be in mid-macarena? Oh. Definately the top half doing the Macarena (duh!)

*Andrew has Hannah Shone on his site today and she has a really nice pair of grey ombres on, so click here to meet her and her new denims.

See you in a few days.

November 17, 2011

I’m off to the Eastern Cape tomorrow morning, I’ll be gone for the next few days. I’m really looking forward to this little break, I’m going to read and laze my face off and hopefully change colour a bit. For some or other reason my ‘scheduling’ button does not want to work, so I won’t be posting any ramblings till Wednesday. Enjoy your weekend guys xx

I’m going to be Instagraming I’m sure, so if you want to see a bit of what I’m getting up to,which might involve a lot of me eating white bread sandwiches, (always makes for a good photo) you can follow me on Twitter, if you want.

Thank you Pendorings.

October 24, 2011

A few months ago Este and I completed a campaign for Exclusives Books for their Lekkerleesfees Festival. Here are the 3 posters that we came up with and executed, with the help of the awesome team from Injozi (the talented Ross Garrett took our pictures for us). We didn’t have much time or money for this campaign, but we really liked how they came out in the end and apparently so did the Pendoring’s judges. Hee.

So I hear you asking, what is the Pendorings? Well it’s an awards show that celebrates Afrikaans advertising and it was held on Friday night in good old Midrand, where we actually won a gold Pendoring AND some sweet sweet cash money, whohoooo that I have already succesfully spent in my head. So my weekend was pretty cool, how about yours?

Hello Sara and Tristan, hello Angie and Shane

October 17, 2011

This weekend Shane and I were featured in the City Press magazine in an article about what drives couples who work in the creative arts and how they get on with one another. They interviewed 1 couple from Durban, 1 from Cape Town and 1 from Joburg (Shane and I). My friend Doug took the photo of us and I think it came out really really nicely.

A new friend that I have just made, named Sara was also featured in the article, I guest blog for her on itswhatiminto – I didn’t know she was going to be in it, it was a nice surpirse when I saw her and her husband face. Hello Miss Sara, what a small world.

Well anyway, I thought I would share the photo with you because I really like it. Hands up. Smiley face.
