On Sunday Jo took me to one of her favourite restaurants near Norwood for lunch, Tortellino D’Oro. I had never heard of this place before so I was keen to try it out, plus they are an authentic Italian restaurant with all homemade pastas and sauces.

So off we went and damn was I pretty much licking my plate by the end of it. This Italian/deli restaurant is not cheap, but their food is so good that you’ll be pretty much humming between each bite whilst waving your fork around in the air like a crazy person, well at least that’s what I was doing. We were one of only a couple of tables when we arrived, but with in a matter of 15 minutes the place was packed, so I take it booking is essential.

I ordered Torellini Pasta with a mixed filling of Parma Ham, Mortadella, Chicken and Parmesan with a Napoletana sauce and Jo had Raviloi Di Zucca, which is pasta filled with Butternut, Ricotta and Almonds in a Butter and Sage Sauce. And for dessert we had homemade Tiramisu.

Everything was delicious, it was all super fresh and light and the portions aren’t huge so you’re not gauging yourself on a mountain of pasta swimming in sauce. I will definitely go back again and next time I’m going to have a starter too, because there were things passing us that had me biting down on my napkin, like baked figs and parma ham and crumbed artichokes. I’m hungry again.
