If you guys are looking for something fun to do this public holiday or over the weekend then you should definitely pay South Africa’s biggest pop-up event Kamers a visit. It’s being held at one of the most beautiful establishments in Joburg, St John’s College and is on from April the 26th to April the 30th.
It was my first time visiting Kamers in over 3 years and I must say there were quite a number of stalls that took my credit cards fancy, which I was pretty pleased about. I got to discover a few new local brands which I had never heard of before as well as see some in real life that I follow and admire on Instagram. I was really impressed by the whole set-up, there is loads of space so you don’t feel like you’re on top of the stranger next to you, trying on their 5th pair of sunglasses, while you try to suck down a gourmet churro (yes there is a churro stand!!!) there is also a nice mix of stalls selling everything from clothing to jewelry to kid’s clothing/toys to skin care items to antiques and the list goes on.
As for where it’s being held, all I can say is wow! St John’s is so awesome. I mentioned in one of my Insta-Stories that if I went to this school I’d fly in on a broomstick every day! It’s literally like something out of a J. K. Rowling novel.
Some of my favourite stands and ones I would say look out for were Nina Bosch, Jane Sews, Day Feels, Wass, Bena Loungewear, The Chocolatiers, Boer & Boet, Liberty Bespoke, The Lollipop League, Famke and then there is a stall that has a variety of very cool kids stuff, this particular one has a bunch of things from La Fede which is one of my favourite makers of handmade kids toys.
