Jobest Club – Bloggers Edition

Anna-Belle and I are so excited to announce our second Jobest Club event taking place on the 9th of July. We are hosting a Jobest Club – Bloggers Edition and it’s aimed at everyone who has a blog, want’s to start a blog or doesn’t even know what the word ‘blog’ means.

We have some very cool speakers, starting with Anthony Bila from The Expressionist. This very talented individual is going to cover his journey as a photographer and his lessons learnt along the way, this will be followed by a talk by Anna-Belle and me as Golden about how you can make money from your blog. Cha-ching cha-ching!

Our good friend Dylan Meadon from IXD will also be there on the day showing people how to actually start a WordPress Blog from scratch and Lizette Watts’ from Nomads & Co. is going to cover Creative Writing For Your Blog.

Winter Sculpture Fair presented by MasterCard – tickets up for grabs

It’s almost that time of the year again, almost time for the MasterCard Winter Sculpture Fair 2014. it’s going to be held at the same amazing spot in Johannesburg, The Nirox Sculpture Park over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of May. This year they are going to have double the number of restaurants coming through from Franschhoek, as well as close to 100 pieces of amazing art on display, by over 50 artists.

Ice cream sunday

If you are looking for something to do this Sunday in Johannesburg that’ll have your sweet teeth doing the Macarena in your mouth, then look no further than Unit 8, 16 High Road, Bramley, Jo’burg. This Sunday is the launch of Ice Cream Sunday, which is a collaboration between Dope Donuts, Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream and UNIT8 [run by Prep’ed by Sasha]. This event is set to be a monthly day of indulgence, so every last Sunday of the month, get your stretchy pants out and head on down to UNIT8.

Berg an exhibition by Martin Rossouw

This Friday, the 4th of April we have a new exhibition opening at Wolves, it’s called Berg and it’s by a very talented young artist called Martin Rossouw (I will obviously do another post when all his work is up on our blue walls). See you Friday xx

– “Berg is Martin Rossouw’s first illustration exhibition exploring some of the colourful characters living in his mind. The series will feature some crazy mountains, each with a specific theme. Apart from the mountains themselves, there will also be the kooky inhabitants and a glimpse into their solitary everyday lives in these mountains.”

Things to do before and after the day called Valentines.

So Valentines Day is coming up soon and even though it is pretty lame and a huge money making racket, I can’t help but like it. I like getting spoilt on the day, I like all the hearts and the sweetness of it and I love having yet another excuse to stuff my round face with chocolate bars, but hey that could just be me.

There are 2 things happening in our neighbourhood leading up to and after this big day, so I thought I would fill you guys in, in case you would like to participate because I think both events are going to be super super fun!
