Yesterday on the way to Knynsa Shane and I stopped over at a magnificent antique store in Port Elizabeth called 2nd Time Around (Kragga Kamma Road). It was full of amazing antiques and the best part was they were not over priced, not by a long shot. Things were tagged at decent with decent numbers and sometimes quite a bit below what I have seen similar stuff go for in the past.
I was mesmerized for about 40 minutes in this shop, which is not small by the way. Shane bought himself a Cream Soda, took a seat at a pretty dinning room set outside and waited for me. I first walked around taking photos, then I walked around taking things in with my human eyes and then I picked a couple of items out to take home. I was actually really well behaved if I think about it now. I could of gone bat crazy in this place but I practiced a bit of restraint, which is really not like me.
I bought some beautiful cake plates for Wolves and I found, hidden behind a few paintings on a shelf another art deco shop mirror in more than good condition. I can never seem to leave them behind when I spot them, which is not often at all.
There were stacks of things I would of bought, but a lot of it wouldn’t have fitted into the car. There are all sorts of things to ooh and aaa over, if you like this is your type of thing. So If you are ever in this area I would recommend you stop in, you will literally feel like you have taken a step back in time.
Animal families without chains and those religious Afrikaans glass pics! You must’ve been in 7th heaven, I know I would’ve been 🙂 Can’t wait to see any specials you bought
