My lovely friend Cath draws very very nicely, she started a project a while ago called the 30 day postcard project. But now that she has finished with that she has started drawing commissioned pieces for people, she also does this cool thing where if you are the first person to comment on one of her postcards on Instagram, you get it.
Because Cath is a friend of ours we were one of her 30 postcards that she started with. Her husband hand delivered it to us the other day from Cape Town, I kind of wish she had sent it through the post with a stamp and some ware and tear, but then there was the risk of never getting it, which would of bummed me out.
I’m framing these 2 beauties and they are going up in our house. Thanks Cath face for the drawings, they are too wonderful.
– Was a self-initiated project where I had to illustrate a postcard every day for 30 days. I liked using this framework because it forced me to draw regularly and it wasn’t too daunting because of its limited time span. I chose the postcard as my medium because of its informality and its transient nature. The subject of each postcard was inspired by the person I was making it for (mainly my friends and family). The people I chose were very diverse, so I had ample source material to draw from.
So talented
