When you have kids just about every aspect of your life changes and that includes your home. Stuff gets moved or sold because it’s not baby friendly, things get moved up a shelf or two, your couch if you were ever precious about it soon becomes part of your kids climbing apparatus and you slowly but surely learn to let go of certain habits or rules that would have been firmly in place before the little tykes arrived
Your house, just like you, transforms but there are certain parts of it that remain the same and actually become the foundation of many great and small moments. Have you ever thought about the fact that your floors are part of your everyday life, forming almost like the stage that you live on? Where amazing things happen, like your child crawling for the first time or not so celebratory events like when someone drops a glass of red wine on your Persian carpet that your Great Grandfather smuggled in after World War One or something along those lines!
Since having kids I definitely spend more time closer to the floor slash on the floor because let’s face it that’s pretty much where all the action is taking place. Especially now that Rex is crawling all over the place, he’s like a crawling whirlwind. If you think about it floors are pretty much one of the most important parts of a house because they run through every room from corner to corner. In fact when we moved into our place one of the first things we did was have one of our parquet tiles engraved with our names so that this flat would always have a piece of us in it.
Recently I partnered up with Philips who understand the importance of floors and the effort that should go into taking care of them. I’ve shared many great memories with my sister who’s two years older than me. We’ve played card games on the floor, drawn our favourite cartoons on th floor and now I get to do it all over again with my daughter
