Nina James has a new room, a big girl’s room as we have been calling it, with a big girl bed and big girl table and chairs to draw at. I can’t believe my baby girl is 2 years and 4 months old. She has grown so much, especially over the last couple of months. In a way, it breaks my heart because my baby is fast becoming a little grown-up but it also makes me so happy to see her progress and grow and learn new things that make us flipping laugh. This child of mine is a real little character and she does and says the most random, awesome stuff. Sometimes Shane and I just literally turn and look at each other and say “Where did that come from?!”
So before I knew it my baby needed a big bed, which in my mind meant a whole room overhaul! Yes please. We wanted to get her a bunk bed because both Shane and I remember being little and absolutely dying for bunk beds. I think I would of run around the world for one if that was humanly possible for a 10-year-old to do! So bunk beds it was! I went looking around and came across a site called Clever Little Monkey who source some of the coolest kids furniture, bedding and decor I’ve ever seen. If you guys are looking for awesome beds and room things for your littles, then definitely check them out.
We landed up getting the Dillion bunk bed which is really nice because it comes with storage and all sorts of nooks and shelves that you can fill with endless treasures. We can’t get Nina James off it, it’s one of her favourite places to play and I can only imagine she’ll love it more the older she gets.
Once the bed arrived and was assembled the fun part began…decorating. I wanted her room to be bright and fun and full of stuff that not only she would enjoy, but her soon-t0-be baby brother would too. I decided to keep it white and hang lots of awesome local art on the walls instead of painting them.
The amazing embroidered dog banner was made by Jade Klara, the astronaut painting is by Amber Smith and the polka-dot crocodile from Paper Snap. You should have a look at all these artists, they are so talented!
I think I may have a thing for cushions because NJ’s bed has a lot of them. I just think they’re so much fun. I got the watermelon and cat head from Cotton On, the amazing fat cat pillow comes from Ménagerie, the fox pillow is from Country Road and the gingham duvet set and adorable house pillows are all from Clever Little Monkey. The YAY banner comes from Zana.
And if you’re curious about the fox on the bed, the creature on the chair, the wooden cars and the wooden camera, they all come from La Fede. The table and chairs were made by an Oom close to Harties, he is super nice. If you want his number mail me, and I will hunt it down for you.
If you have a second let me know what you think of her room and if you have any cool kiddies labels that you think I should check out, I’d love to hear about them.

It’s beautiful!
Aaa thanks so much Clea 🙂
Love the bed! I am going to look into it for my two. And thanks for mentioning Menagerie 🙂 And the room is so bright and lovely, the perfect place to play!
NJ really loves it, she’s up and down it all day and it has a lot of storage and shelving which is awesome!
Only a pleasure 🙂
I love that although it is a kids room, it is an extension of your own taste. Not the typical childs room with bright acidic plastic toys. It is so refreshing.
That’s exactly how I feel about it! 🙂
Thanks so much for the comment.
