I’m not sure if you are all aware of the fact that I have just opened up a new roastery in Braamfontein called Father with 3 of my friends, Barry, Nick and Chad. We have been planning this shop for the last few months and now it’s all ready and open and we’re so excited about it. It’s only 3 weeks old, but so far the feedback has been super good, which is really great.
The actual shop turned out exactly like I pictured it in my head, like a Scandinavian cabin in the woods and everything is just perfect, including the actual flavour of the coffee (and no, i’m not being biased). This project was awesome to work on, we all had our little parts, I designed the initial idea for the interior of the shop, Nick designed the logo, then we all came up with the idea for the wrappers, which feature our dads when they were young and then Nick and I designed them using the herringbone pattern featured in the shop. Chad is responsible for the taste of our coffee and Barry is the business brain behind it all. There were a few bumps along the way, but eventually everything came out just right.
We are situated on 73 Juta Street, Braamfontein, under the Neighbour Goods Market. I’m not there all the time but I’m in on Saturdays, so come past and say hi if you can, I would love to hear what you think of our new venture. We are roasting all our own beans there, so you can buy them ground or whole directly from us for your house, business, friend, loved one, mom, dad etc etc
Here are some photos of our place – thanks Andrew and Nick for taking them and thanks to everyone who has shown us so much love so far.
We had our cups made especially for the shop.
Wow!! Well done Angie. You are so good at what you do! Looks amazing x
Congrats! Love the minimalist but warm look.
Will have to go have a cup there soon.
Congrats Angie, sheesh you’re a busy gal. Can’t wait to try it out x x x
Looks amazing! You don’t deliver beans do you?
So so great. You all did such a great job. Brilliant idea the way you designed the wood.
