You know how sometimes you sit around and think about how you would like to do something different, something a tad out of the ordinary, something that has nothing to do with your everyday life?

I’m always so keen to get stuck into projects or activities like that, but the time comes and goes and then before I know it January has turned into October, I’ve eaten my body weight in Kit Kats and life just goes on.

I really want to change that because learning new skills, especially creative ones is such a magical thing and the only thing stopping me from diving headfirst into something new and creative is myself and my Goggle Calendar, which ONLY I have access to! So with a bit of effort, I can make stuff like this happen more!

When my friend Misha asked me if I’d like to take part in one of the Dalton and Bloom flower courses, I was in like flint!

My course started on a Tuesday and ended on a Friday and during those days I learnt a variety of very cool things from the foundations of floristry, to costing, working with foam, arranging flowers in different shaped vases, wiring techniques, how to make buttonholes and corsages, centrepieces, flower crowns and more.

Often I’ve looked at flower arrangements say at a wedding or in a store and thought about how I would have done them up differently, so after attending this course I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Not only did I find myself constantly entertained by one of the most unique individuals I have ever met, (Karen that would be you) but I also quickly learnt some amazing flower techniques, which I can confidently say I’m super eager to put into practice in the real world. Does anyone need a flower crown or a bridal boutique? You can pay me in Kit Kats.

Karen’s way of teaching is effortless, making it really easy to pick up all the different things she was showing us. Dalton and Bloom flower courses are fun and easy to follow and I got to make a bunch of new friends, which is always a bonus. Thanks Karen, because of you I will forever and a day never look at a spiral bouquet the same way again 🙂
