Desmond & The Tutus get painted – Mnusic

July 5, 2012

Shane found this amazing painter who does a lot of the signage and window displays for barbers around town. He gave him pictures of the band and got him to do up the new artwork for the new album Mnusic. The man painted everything on canvas and then shane got it all scanned it and now our house got to keep all the originals, which are just too priceless for words.

These paintings actually gave me an idea for another piece for our house that I have already discussed with the artist and he is so amped to paint it for me. I want to get pictures of all my closest friends, he is then going to paint us all together (well just our heads) in one scene wearing black turtle necks. You know, because black turtlenecks scream sophistication and success. I cannot wait to get this piece done, it’s going to be so classic. And I know exactly where it’s going, right above the couch so we can all watch TV together. Yes.

How cool are these painting?

Doug looks like a young Prince Charles in the ‘members’ portrait.

    They’re really cool pieces.

You Batis-Durrant faces are too clever. Flip, your babies are gonna be stupid-clever!

How can we get hold of the artist? These paintings are amazing. My sister’s birthday is coming up and I think a little portrait will be the perfect gift!
