My #ShieldItsYourMove Challenge

August 4, 2016

SHIELD3

As some of you may or may not know I am actually pregnant with my second child, which I’m super excited about. My bundle of joy is due early in January and this time around I’m carrying a little boy, which is so awesome because I’m sure it’s going to be a whole different adventure in comparison to a little girl.

During my last pregnancy, I picked up a whopping 22kg which put a lot of strain on my body and my mental well being. I was literally waddling around like a giant bear who looked like they had eaten another giant bear. It was insane. I wasn’t happy with the amount of weight that I had gained but a lot of it had to do with the fact that I ate mountains of white bread all day long and I did absolutely no exercise unless you count lifting food to my mouth.

So this time around I’ve tried to be more conscious of what I’m eating, even though I still have days where I will just devour everything in site and I’m exercising with my personal trainer of over a year now Amiee, which has been really great because she actually includes Nina James in some of my workouts, which is really sweet. So when Shield challenged me to take part in their #ShieldItsYourMove campaign which involves me tracking my daily activities to see just how much I move, I was in like flint!

I’ve never really thought about how much I move in a day, but since starting to track it with one of these fancy wrist devices I’m surprised just to see just how much I do. I guess it does help that I have a 2-year old that loves being chased around our house, a game she can’t get enough of.

I obviously also got sent some of Shield’s new MotionSense deodorant to try out, this product is meant to keep you fresher the more you move. At first, I was a bit unsure but believe it or not, it actually does work like it’s supposed to and I’m not just saying that it really does. I also like the fact that it doesn’t have a very strong smell, just more of a fresh scent which is great because I don’t fancy deodorants that are overpowering.

So here I go embarking on my one month challenge to see just how much I move every day. I’m quite excited, in fact, I even find myself stepping on the spot sometimes so that I can rack up more points hehe.

Do any of you have any tips on how you stayed or are staying fit during pregnancy, I’d love to hear them. And if you have any tips on how to stay away from bread I’ll take those too! Ha!

So many people have mentioned yoga to me, I wish I was a fan, but I’m nit and I can’t even tell you why 🙁 It’s just one of those things that I can’t seem to get into. But thanks so much for your comment I really appreciate it 🙂

Such fun pictures! How cute is little Nina.

Good luck with the pregnancy & moving more. Making a little human can be oh so tough on the body. I ate bowl of cereal & pasta three times a day (& during the night too), so no tips here. Eek. x
