We are still busy with our house, it’s been a while, yes, but it feels like we have got a lot done and one day, very soon, we’ll be able to it back and enjoy it all 🙂 But before I do any sitting back and relaxing, there are still a couple of projects I really want to get done and on my list is our main bedroom and Nina’s room.
Unlike our bathroom makeover, Nina’s bedroom makeover required a bit more than a lick of paint and some plants. Earlier this year she swapped rooms with Rex and opted for the slightly smaller one (closer to mom) which meant that she was giving up her bunkbeds as they were too big to fit in her new space.
So I saw this as an opportunity to get her a proper ‘big girl’s’ bed as well as switch her room up a bit and make it a bit more age-appropriate and more her.
Whilst looking for kiddies furniture online I came across a cool Danish interior and furniture company called Flexa who make the most beautiful, innovative flatpack furniture from beds, to desks to shelves, toys etc. All made from good quality wood and subtle, but really cool-coloured finishes.

Flexa has just arrived in South Africa and with them, they bring a collection of awesome kiddie’s furniture that’ll transform any meh-bedroom into something super special and really quickly too.
I have never built anything flat-packed prior to the pieces we got for Nina’s room, it was not only easy to do but surprisingly fun too! Who knew an electric screwdriver was so awesome! Even the kids got involved.

So in collaboration with Flexa, we worked on Nina’s bedroom makeover, turning her room from this….

Into this….
