My dad in the 1970’s

September 20, 2011

My dad has been visiting Shane and I for the past week, he had some business to do here so he stayed with us. On Saturday we went to my mom’s brother’s house for a braai and we got to listen to all the naughty stuff him and my dad, but especially my dad got up to. Man alive, my father was a crazy haha. My uncle says that he used sit in the back of my dad’s mini, whilst my dad would slouch right down in the drivers seat, so you couldn’t see him and then my uncle would direct him as they drove past the cinema complex, so it looked like the car was driving itself hahaha.

Well anyway I thought it would be cool to post some pictures of them from back in the day. Such cool cats.

I wish all our photos now had the same feeling as these do. The colours, the textures, the clothes, the hairstyles. Oh the hairstyles, too too cool.

explain the hand in shirt pose! 🙂 Also lots of cool pants. And even though you may disagree, I think many of your & your parents photos are going to be confused by your kids… hehe you can see you all come from the same tree.

Is it just me or does your dad look like Rhys Ifans? And yeah, I’ve seen of my dad’s pics from back in the day, and goddamn but did people bust a move. There’s a particular pair of electric blue hotpants not much bigger than undies attached to the most glorious perm that I now recognise as a family friend. LOVE.

So cool! You could change the labels to Shane, Craig/Will and Angie and people would think you just had a really nice old photo filter.

Cool post! Funniest thing…my Dad used to always tell stories of his youth and he had this one friend who was like 8ft2 or something and they used to pull that same trick with the car driving itself along the Durban Beachfront, when you could drive all the way along. It must have been like THEE trick to pull back in the day.
