Welcome home – Toffie Festival

March 24, 2011

Here is mine and Shane’s table that we made up for the Toffie Festival, that opens today. We are so happy with the way it came out. Whoooho.

It’s a cute severed kwepie doll head bleeding out army men and jets. Yes. We don’t have an explanation for it, so you can just make one up if you want haha. Otherwise you can just look at it, repeat the words “welcome home” to yourself whilst nodding intelligently and then just move on, that’s what I normally do with a piece of art I don’t really understand.

Going to the show later on, I will take pictures of all the other tables for you to see. Can’t wait to see them and the art that is on display. I have such a cool afternoon ahead of me.

Welcome home x x

Oh my God your posts make me laugh and laugh. I’m going to stop by and nod and repeat the words ‘Welcome Home’ and draw my own interpretations of it being about a war hero who returns a broken man, to a broken family, disarticulated by fear.

Very … arty. Cool. Evokes feelings of … hunger?

There is a Metallica song called welcome home about a guy in a nut house after being in the war. You should play a piano only version with loads of reverb next to this piece and when people walk past you go “ooooooooooooooooooooooooh” in an eerie kind of ghost voice. Shit, there i go, being all arty again.
