Over the last few months, I have shared a few great projects on my blog that MySchool is involved in that are not only really awesome but have also really made a difference to the organisations that they stand behind. They have an array of worthy causes that they support and love and that they help their customers get behind them just by simply swiping their MySchool cards instore.
On my blog, I have spoken about the Shine Literacy Project that they endorse which is an amazing organisation that has been around for 17 years and assists with South Africa’s high stats around poor reading and comprehension. I have also spoken about the great volunteer project where MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet has partnered up with a Johannesburg-based non-profit organisation called (NPO) Better SA and their very innovative and super awesome hop-on hop-off mini-bus volunteer service, which literally arranges everything for you, making donating some of your time to those in need the easiest task around.
Both these initiatives are great and are working wonderfully to help those who can’t help themselves, so when MySchool told me about their brand new Vote4Charity campaign which allows you as a Myschool cardholder to vote over the next 7 days to help the charity of your choice get their share of the R1 Million I felt the need to share it.
Literally, all you have to do is go to their site, pick your charity, enter your MySchool or linked Woolworths card number to vote then share your vote on social media to boost your donation. Every vote is worth R5, which MySchool will donate on your behalf. PLUS you could be 1 of 5 LUCKY MySchool or linked Woolies cardholders to win R5 000. It really couldn’t be easier to vote and back a worthy cause, which I think is pretty damn awesome!
There is a huge list of charities that you can choose from and I do mean huge! I decided to vote for the MyPlanet Rhino Foundation which is doing amazing work for the preservation of our remaining rhinos. In fact, the MyPlanet Rhino Fund has become one of the biggest citizen-driven fundraising initiatives for rhino conservation. More than R9.1 million has been raised over the past six years and has been used to fund a variety of rhino conservation and education projects. I hate the idea of rhinos not being around when my kids have kids and that they will only exist in storybooks, it’s such a sad thought because they are such iconic creatures.
Like I mentioned above it is so easy to contribute towards this charity and so many more like it. One minute out of your day is all you need to make this campaign a huge success and it would be awesome if you were a part of it, especially because all you need to contribute is your MySchool or Woolies card number. Couldn’t be more simple.
Below is a little video telling you a bit more about the MyPlanet Rhino Fund 🙂
