Hello guys, Este and I need your help. We both went across to Country Road a couple of days ago and dropped some sweet sweet cashes on above jersey and jacket. But we’re not 100% sure about them or whether or not we should keep them. We have been umming and aa-ing for what seems like too long a time, which probably is a sign to take the suckers back, but every time we say we’re going to return them we change each other’s minds.
So can you help us out pleeeeease? What do you think? Does the grey cape jersey suit me or do I look like I should be in the starting line-up of the South African girl’s rugby team or hockey team? Don’t get me wrong, I love cape jerseys, I have one at home, but not sure if this particular one suits me or not.
Then Este isn’t sure about the checkered crop jacket, is it R650 nice? Is it worth keeping or are there nicer jackets out there?
What do you guys think? Take back and probably buy something else ha! Or keep and stop whining like 2 stuffed pigs on a farm somewhere far far away?
hmmm. i don’t think the cape looks very nice in the jersey material. maybe look for a more structured one? i like the jacket, but is it R650 nice? don;t think so, cause by next winter checkered will be as out of fashion as pvc leggings. hope my input helps 🙂
Oooo I like like like! I nearly bought the cape jersey and I like the fit of the jacket but I’m not the person to ask because I can justify just about any purchase. I’m the girl you call when you buy overpriced bright red heels and need someone to tell you why you actually NEED them and that they are actually a wardrobe staple.

the cape’s proportions are wrong with that super long collar (i felt a bit like florence nightingale!)
there are better jackets out there…look in the new woolworths world mag. better prices too.

When I lived in Joburg I used to buy stuff take photos of me in the different items and then mail them to my sister. She would then tell me what to keep, how to wear it and what to take back. My own personal shopping guide, ha ha!

Jacket: Nah
Think about how that cape is going to wear; in other words, will it still be wearable by Winter 2012, or even by July 2011. I think not. Their jersey material makes nasty little balls and in the end it looks worn and scruffy. Like something the notorious but elusive Rosebank Tramp Lady would be seen in.
And Jacci is right, the proportions not only look weird, but uncomfortable!
The jacket is waaaaaay too fitted and short. Though I do like the very feminine shoulders, I also think buying anything checkered now is a waste of money.
Rather go spend those valuable and shiny Earth Rands at Forever New and The Space!

i love the warm gravel-grey colour of the jersey – it reminds me of a litter of fluffy kittens – but its amorphous nature tends towards a hobo chic trend that came and went along with Mary Kate Olsen’s appetite in ‘06.
a great deal of chain stores offer similar style jerseys with less frump on the body and (possibly) more bux in the bank.
the jacket is cute and slimming (all hail another helping of delicious butternut soup!) but 650 smackaroos might be a little steep for a jacket of that length… or lack thereof.
i say return the purchases and have a looksee around town.
bargains are bound to be found.

The cape is a no go for me and the jacket is not bad but I wouldn’t buy it for that price..

Why is everyone hating on the cape? I think it’s super cute on you and on trend. I saw similar ones in London for A LOT more. But if you’re unsure it’s best you take it back, otherwise it’ll sit in your cupboard gathering “nasty balls”.

Cape Jersey no, it looks comfy and warm and that is all.
Checkered Jacket yes but only if Este feels that it will go with a lot of her current wardrobe.
