The Beatles – one of the first and the very last

The-Beatles-1961-6

On that cool photographic site that I was telling you guys about (retronaut.com), I came across some photographs that documented one of the first live gigs The Beatles ever played, that was attended by a staggering 18 people in Aldershot and then a series of photos which were taken that documented their last ever photo shoot together. It’s awesome to see how their transformation from short haired, clean-cut looking guys just hanging around having a beer, to long haired rockstars that clearly have air an about them, and rightly so.

– “Sam Leach, The Beatles’ then agent, and wanting to become their manager, attempted to introduce the group to London agents by promoting a gig at The Palais Ballroom, Aldershot, on 9th December 1961. The show was not advertised properly and, as a result, only 18 people attended. Weeks after this Brian Epstein became the group’s manager.”

-“Tittenhurst was the home of John and Yoko from late summer 1969 until August 1971 when they moved to America, and subsequently the home of Ringo Starr. The Beatles’ very last photo shoot took place here on 22nd August 1969″
