Leigh Harrington - Hey Stranger

My lovely and talented friend Leigh Harrington has drawn a whole lot of beautiful pictures to exhibit at Wolves. Her show called ‘Hey Stranger’ will be starting at 6pm this Friday and will run till the end of the month, but if you want some of these inky treasures you better get there early.

I think if you don’t come you’re going to drown in a blue pools of your own blue blue tears like this lass.

Lookie lookie boys, what do we have here.

April 13, 2011

The other day and in fact on many occasions, Shane and I discussed how much it sucks that there aren’t many places to get cool guys stuff, we thought we would try change that, even if it’s only in a small way. So we cut a shelf out of our bookshelf in the shop, hung up a rail, collected some amazing t-shirts and tananannananana ‘t-shirts for sale at Wolves’. We’re starting out small, but the stuff we have collected is all different from each other and I think really cool.

First up is Rockwell‘s amazing t-shirts, we only ordered 1 of each design, they are all the way from the Netherlands and are really nice shirts. Then there’s IAM (Matthew and Mel, awesome couple), which is our only local designer at the moment, they have stocked us up with some super cool t-shirts from their label based in Durban. And then there is Billy’s quirky horror t-shirts which come from the United States of America land.

What you guys think? You like? (Click on them and then zoom in if you want to see them bigger.)

Hello art, tell me how you’re doing.

April 11, 2011

I thought I would post some pictures of the art pieces I made for our exhibition that is still up at Wolves (and will be till the end of April). I chose 5 things in my life that mean something to me, things that are a part of my everyday and how I live and feel, like the plane represents my flipping super fear of flying and my laptop is there because I spend a hundred million hours on it a week. I have been working on these pieces for quite a while now, it was a project I started last year and pulled out every now and then when I felt like just relaxing. I’m so happy with the way they came out and my framer boxed framed them beautifully. The hairy man is Shane by the way. Obviously.

Giveaway: Nomilk today. Ok if you say so, but I really want some!

April 6, 2011

Everyone say hello to Eva who lives in pretty Greece and is a agricultural biotechnology student by day and fancy jewelry maker by late afternoon and night. Her awesome label is called nomilk today and her geometrically shaped jewelry is handcrafted out of different coloured polymer clay into unique pieces that i’m sure you haven’t seen before. Eva and I had a little chat and and I have ordered 12 pieces for the shop, which she made up in colours that matched Wolves – how cool? They arrived in the post this weekend, so I have 6 necklaces and 6 brooches waiting for pretty necks and tops, I have already nicked one of them for me, so make that 5 necklaces. If any of you are keen, they will in in store by Thursday. Necklaces are R280 and the brooches are R220.

And just when you thought this post was over, it’s not…… Eva is generously going to hand over one of her beautiful brooches to one of your lucky faces! Again all you have to do is leave me a comment, ‘like’ Eva’s facebook page and if you re-post or tweet about this competition, let me know and I will enter you again. Whoo good luck x x Man, I love these things they remind me of Liquorice allsorts, ones that you can’t eat (damn), but that you can be proud of.
