Look what my friends Laurenistic, Este, Mariana and Angus got me for my birthday! I almost did a summersault in my pants when I opened these presents.
We landed in Barcelona today after flying for 8 and half hours and then again for another 2 and half hours with a 2 hour stop over in Istanbul in between.
Shane and I arrived at our hotel, freshened up and then almost immediately left to try find this awesome antique-collectibles shop called Mercantic that we had read about. We did find it and I did nearly go crazy. It is by far the biggest antique store I have ever been in. It’s two huge floors of vintage furniture, vintage jewellery, figurines, art deco lights, sewing machines, antique toys etc – geez this list could go on and on. It was full of crazy goodness. Needless to say I bought a few things, but not a lot because the prices were not crazy cheap.
Today we walked around an antique fair that was taking place near the beach. We saw quite a few awesome things. This one man was selling all sorts of old tin and metal toys. I really wanted to get the tin cable car set (above), but it was 110 euros. there were also a lot of French looking older ladies selling vintage jewellery. Man, they don’t make stuff like they used to. I bought a couple of things, the tennis racquet & bows. I’m such a foolish sucker fool for old stuff and food, but not old food. I’m not that cuckoo.
*the hair bows i got for 4 euros for Claire’s. I love them, they look like something Brooke Shields would have worn when she was 14.
my best friend gina king had this lightening bolt made for a couple of years ago for christmas. i love it so much, i practically wear it everyday. i like teaming it up with my silver locket that i found at the bottom of a scratch box at the oriental plaza for R2 – i kid you not! These two things make me very very happy.
