IMG_7443

There is a new exhibition opening up at Wolves tonight, it’s called Sex, Drugs and Hotdog Rolls and it’s by a young designer called Plink Plonk. The pieces are light and fun and priced super well, they come in A4’s and A3’s, framed or unframed and you’re looking at paying:

R250 for unframed A4’s and R500 for framed A4’s

R300 for unframed A3’s and R600 for framed A3’s

There are a few I have my eye on already, thought one or 2 of these would be fun in our kitchen. Come check them out or mail me if you are interested in any. Happy Friday.

Micah Lidberg

Micah Lidberg you draw like a mothertrucker! Your cats make me smile from one giant ear to another.

– Hi there, I am Micah Lidberg. I grew up in the Middle West of America and since the mid 80’s I really enjoyed it. I’ve since parted ways with the middle of the country – I’ve switched to the eastern beach. If for some reason I am not at the beach, you can probably find me in one of three cities – Kansas City, Minneapolis, or New York as these are my homes away from home.

As for my work – I’m shaken up by nature – every bit of it. It’s certainly a very deep and very wide thing. With nature, there’s plenty of room to explore and plenty to share. It’s an entertaining venture.

My interests include but are not limited to – drawing, friends, people, America, places outside of America, strangeness, and occasionally tea.

From Cover to Cover

July 28, 2013

This is quite a cool project called From Cover to Cover by designer Jenny Volvovski. It’s an ongoing project whereby she designs new covers for books after she finishes reading them. She has given herself a few limitations so that they look like they are part of a series – I like them a lot.

– I think a lot about book cover design while I am reading, and thought it would be a nice exercise to recreate the covers of books once I finish reading them. I decided to set a bunch of limitations for the covers because I wanted them to look like they were part of a series (at least somewhat). The rules were – green/black/white for color, Futura/typewriter/handwriting for text, and scans/drawings/photography for the image. Sometimes I didn’t follow the rules exactly.

I’m so so so going to try make this cake and when I do I will blog about the results, but for now check out these cool photos and read about how to make it. Here is a link back to the genius who actually made this in the first place – Victoria I’m sending you a virtual high-5, because your face and this cake flipping rule.
