Yay Bee Sea – Exhibition

Shane and I are curating an alphabet exhibition at Wolves for the month of August. We briefed 27 different illustrators and designers to make 1 letter each and I must tell you they all look really cool together. They are all so different and interesting. We even have an ampersand.

The exhibition starts at 6pm on Friday, there will be 30 A2 prints of each letter available and they are going for only R350 each. So if you are wanting to spell a really long word, you won’t have to not eat for the rest of the month hee.

Where neon signs go to die.

Have any of you heard or even better, been to The Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas? I came across this place last night and I almost rolled off my bed with excitement. I think old neon signage like this is one of the coolest things man has ever come up with and this place in Vegas saves it from being lost and forgotten/destroyed. They collect old neon signage, some pieces are donated to them and others are literally rescued from buildings being torn down.

Package from the Cape Town family

Cath and Doug came back from Cape town the other day and bought with them a parcel for me from my wonderful friends Jen and Luke. In it I found this delicate little deer jewellery holder that Jen picked up at the Design Indaba, she said it had my name written all over it. She was not wrong, if I had seen this little guy I probably would of thrown myself onto it. Thank goodness I didn’t, because I don’t think the person who made them would of been that impressed with me.
