Marataba Trails Lodge

August 1, 2016

Marataba-Trails-Lodge

Sometimes all you feel like doing is driving out of the city to a place that is literally surrounded by the untamed beauty of nature, so no TV, no internet, no Kardashians, no worries, just you and the great big outdoors.

A few weeks back Shane and I went away for a weekend and stayed at the amazing Marataba Trails Lodge located on a big 5-private reserve in the Waterberg. This utterly amazing lodge is literally perched on the side of a mountain, with 180° views of Waterfall Valley. Our room, which was one of only 5 Eco-Suites on the property overlooked one of the best views I have ever seen. The rooms are made mostly of glass so you really get to take it all in. In fact, it was so nice to lie on the bed and just stare out that I almost missed high-tea because of it and you know how I feel about mini cakes, which means it must have been good. Even the shower looks out onto the expansive landscape, which is quite something.

Bounce Inc.

Bounce inc-10

bounce-inc
When I was a kid I was constantly moving if I wasn’t riding my bike, I was rollerskating or swimming or climbing trees. When I was a teenager we moved into a house that had a trampoline and I used to go nuts on that thing every afternoon, it was so much fun to just jump as high and as long as possible and then afterwards just lie on it in the sun and eat a polony and cheese sandwich. So when I heard that a there was literally a massive warehouse opening up with wall to wall trampolines in it, I got so excited! And that is exactly what Bounce Inc. is a massive room filled with trampolines, they’re on the floor the walls and I’m sure if they could have figured it out, they would of put them on the ceiling too.

Cafe Del Sol Botanico

Cafe Del Sol Botanico-1

One of my most favourite restaurants in Johannesburg is Cafe Del Sol in Olivedale. I have only eaten there a handful of times, because it’s not the kind of place you can just arrive at and expect to be seated, you have to book way in advance, but man is it worth the wait. So when I learnt that the same owners were opening up second branch called Cafe Del Sol Botanico in The Bryanston Shopping Centre, my stomach literally did a cartwheel.

#PUMAgram – Northcliff Hill

February 9, 2015

instawalk-2

Anna-Belle, Gareth, Lebo and myself together with PUMA are hosting a bunch of PUMAgram Instawalks all around our city for the next few months. Our first PUMAgram Instawalk was last Saturday at Northcliff Hill. After it stormed like crazy for most of the afternoon, the sun came out and about ±35 of us hauled our cameras and phones out to shoot one of the prettiest views in Johannesburg.

I may be new to the whole Instawalk world, but every time I go on one I get more and more excited because its such a cool environment to take photos, meet new people and discover the different corners of your city.
