Merry Christmas little Angie.

December 13, 2011

I was going through my photo box the other day, looking at old pictures, when I came across my Father Christmas ‘Eastgate memories’ from when I was a kid. Remember these? You would line up with your mom and then smile happily in a picture with Santa Clause, all the while wondering where the blazers he was hiding your life size unicorn made of glitter.

I wish my mom had carried on with these, they only go up to 1985.  It’s so funny how I look exactly the same in all of them haha!

I think I’m going to start taking pictures like these again, but I’m going to make Shane come with me, so we’ll both be sitting on Santa’s lap #awkward-awesome

I love how the first and second Father Christmas is like 18 years old and has eyebrows that are as black as a black man’s cape, at least later on they got more appropriate candidates.

These 2 are my favourite – that’s me and my brother in 1984

Can I please draw your face? I will make it nice, I promise.

October 10, 2011

On Friday last week I went to my postbox after work and found this envelope waiting for me. I had no idea who it was from, but when I pulled out what was in it, I was confronted by the most wondeful thing ever, a hand painted picture of a polaroid of Shane and I that I blogged about a while back.

This is one of the raddest things I think I have ever received, from I might add a perfect stranger, so Bianca Sgammini all I have to say is – Wow and you deserve a bench named after you in a fancy park. I mother-fing love this painting, it seriously made my whole day and weekend.

So much of the fun

August 2, 2011

On Saturday night I had my belated birthday party at Wolves with my friend Frank. There was dancing and friends and pizza and punch (that made you feel like you had been punched in the ‘don’t sway from side to side’ part of your mindgrapes) and polaroids and stripes, lots of stripes. Everyone had to wear them, just one thing stripy, it was such a cool ‘prop’ for photos. I think all parties should be documented on instant film – It just makes everything look rad.

Thanks friends for making our birthday party so much fun. You are all kind face lady/men.

Quick, drop the fillet and fetch the eyeliner!

February 1, 2011

Last night I had a gang of 5 boys to feed. Yikes! Whenever I have to cook for lots of people, especially boys I always get nervous that I won’t make enough food (that’s the Greek coming out in me) so I bought double of everything and the biggest piece of fillet I have ever dragged home. I made my mom’s fillet mushroom pasta recipe – YUM. It seemed to have gone down a treat, which made me very happy.

My friend Dave bought over a bottle of wine that he thought I would love because it was called ‘We call this Dancing’, what he didn’t realise was that it was made by The Parlotones. Hmmm…I don’t really like the Parlotones like AT ALL, so it only seemed right that we pull out my eyeliner and take pictures of ourselves looking like dramatic fools. I will however say one thing good about it, after a glass and a half I slept like well hidden baby bear. Yes.

Here is the recipe if anyone is keen x

Prawns and weekends, together they are my new favourite thing.

January 31, 2011

This weekend Shane and I went to Adega in Kensington where we smashed 1 kilogram of tasty prawns and some of the best homemade fries around while we sat on their balcony and looked out the tree lined street. We had such a good time that we went back again the very next day with Craig and this time demolished TWO kilograms of prawns and even more of the best homemade fries around! Man alive, we were wasted afterwards but so so very happy. Last night I felt a bit sick, but it had nothing to do with the food itself, that was amazing, the bowl of lemon butter sauce however that I practically slurped down with a straw was definitely the culprit. Ps: I’m not exaggerating.

Shane and I are thinking about making this our Saturday afternoon tradition. I wonder if we eat too many prawns if we’ll land up looking like them….hmmmm…I hope not, because this is happening people.

Afterwards we took a drive around Kensington and checked out some of the houses that were on show. Wow, there are some really lovely houses. Old houses with beautiful pressed ceilings and wooden floors and vintage fixtures and some of them have the raddest view of the city. The pictures above are of a little house we went into that was being sold by a lovely old lady who was moving to an old age home. All the different types of carpets in the house were crazy, every room had a different one.

Took this polaroid of Craig at my house after lunch, I loved his outfit, it looked like he belonged on a fancy yacht on some nice blue water.

Polaroids, you’ve been dated.

January 24, 2011

The other day before my holidays were over I decided to pull out all my polaroids and date them. I looked them up on my blog and on my computer and I managed to date more or less all of them. It was quite a mission, but now i’m so glad I did it.
