House for mother

This beautiful house-to-be is called “House for mother”, it’s a work in progress with construction starting in August 2014. The project is located in Linköping, Sweden, and is part of the Linköpingsbo 2017 housing exhibition.

I think it should be called “House for Angie”, but that’s just me. I really like how they’re going to divide the different living spaces in two by using dark and light colours, very very cool. I also really like the high A-frame ceiling, my dream house has a roof just like this.

I want to live in an old church

Only in Australia or anywhere, but here do you get the opportunity to convert an old church into your living quarters. This beautiful church is the apartment of jeweller Tessa Blazey, her husband Steven Blick, the building has been converted into four units. Their apartment is one with the tower. Sigh.

Design Files always has such pretty homes on it, it’s like they have an endless supply of awesome Australian dwellings to explore. This space is part of a subdivision of the former Bayview Hotel Kensington. It’s an antique inspired, yet modern Kensington home which belongs to Trudy Gould and Seamus McCartney and their two daughters.

Cool Spaces: Our black bathroom

A while back I blogged about a bunch of black and white bathrooms that I had found on various sites. Shane and I were dead keen to make our new bathroom black too, so we pulled out the existing bathroom, we pulled out the exisiting cupboards in our main bedroom, to make the bathroom a bit bigger and we set to work.

Wood, gold and white = awesome

Aaaaaaa love this Melbourne flat that belongs to Dan Honey and Paul Fuog. It’s so light and woody and pretty and simple and nice. Love the all the gold faucets and white bathroom, love all the touches of raw wood. As much as I like dark colours and our new house has a lot of them, a light house also makes me throw 2 thumbs up in the air.

Cool spaces: Black bathroom

Shane and I are thinking about (we landed up making our bathroom black) making our new bathroom black and white, complete with a black Victorian bath like below. I have been collecting a bit of reference here and there for it, but today I came across this house is Sweden that is all black, white and grey – it’s so cool. I think i’m wanting more of these colours in our new house.
