these are some of my most favourite deer things – the first one is a wooden oval plaque with elk painted on it, i picked it up at the biscuit mill in cape town for 75 rond. i haven’t been to this market in forever, but next time i go i hope i find something as special. the brass deer belonged to my granny. they are super old and a bit funny looking, but i love them non the less. and the last thing is a polaroid of my dear friend gina king, who i miss a lot. she’s posing with my pet Simon. he guards our front door with his handsome brute face.

I bought this Christian Dior bag from a hospice store on Louie Botha for exactly R2. I was very flippin excited when I saw it, I think I may have even pushed a small child out of the way to get to it. No lies.

I also bought this beautiful brooch from the same place for R5. There is so much detail in it, even though it’s so small, it makes me very happy.

Jo and I went shopping for Network’s new reception area on Friday. We got a lump of a cash and a brief we came up with. Oooooooh so much fun. We had to buy art deco light fittings and paintings for the wall. I’ll show you what we got for them later on. But for now, look at this masterpiece I took home. It’s awesome. It has deer in it. It’s huge and the best part is – it’s made of carpet material. ha!

We JUST managed to fit it into my car. Holy moly. I was on top of the steering wheel and Jo was on the dashboard. The lady at the shop where we bought it from was laughing at us. She even called her mom on the phone to tell her how ridiculous we looked. The squashed drive home was totally worth it though.
