Denim and studs

November 21, 2012

I went into Cotton On a few weeks ago and whilst I was looking around I bumped into this denim lovely on a mannequin. There were 2 of them and standing right next to me was another girl with her eyes as wide open as mine starring at this piece of clothing. We literally had to have a mini fit in order to get the floor staff to take them off the mannequins and give them to us because they were the last 2 in the shop. Apparently they are not allowed to take clothing off the in-store displays – shame this lady didn’t really have a choice, the shirts were coming with us.

I love the studs going down the arms, this shirt makes me feel like I should be an extra in Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.

Denim + studs = awesome

Speaking of fashion, I have been invited to the Topshop launch tonight in Sandton City. I’m so super excited to see what they have in store for us. I’m going armed with my credit card and camera, will let you know how it goes and if the bank calls to see if my credit card is still breathing. Cant wait!!

Hello there, Iron and I would like to try on these shoes on.

August 1, 2012

I’m sure this has happened to many of you before, you go to the shops with a specific task at hand, which you know you have to complete but you don’t and instead you buy stuff that you don’t really need, but want. Yes?

So yesterday I went through to Sandton City to exchange an iron I bought because the damn thing stopped working 5 minutes into it’s new life with me. Anyway I was walking towards the ‘iron shop’ with full intentions of returning my purchase then going home, when I got distracted by, well nothing really, I just swiftly turned left into Zara the second it was clsoe enough and then spent the next little while trying on patterned jackets and shiny things. The iron kept me company the whole time, which was really sweet of it.

Zara has been on sale now for what seems like an eternity and it’s irritating because it always feels like you are looking at the same stuff, that you dot want! But yesterday the shelves were filled with some very cool new things and it made me feel excited to be in there again.

I bought this very nice PLAIN denim shirt. I write plain in capital letters because it’s impossible to find one that doesn’t have some sort of effect on it, like it’s been in the wars for the last 15 years. And then I bought these very nice leather boots, which were actually in the sale section that I dissed about 4 minutes ago. They were the last pair and they were in my size so I thought I would taken them home with me and iron. I like them a lot.

I landed up visiting quite a few places yesterday, but never quite made it round to the shop I was specifically there for. This is not the first time something like this has happened, sometimes I get annoyed with myself but then sometimes, like yesterday I’m totally cool with it hehe.

What an awesome day.

July 25, 2012

Yesterday I flew to the Mr Price headquarters in Durban to view their new Summer 2012 collection as well check out their new ONLINE store ( www.mrp.co.za goes live on Monday), which by the way is amazing.

In fact the whole day was some what amazing. We were super spoilt by The Mr P team and the whole day/experience was so personalised and lovely. They really went out of their way to show us an awesome time and we got to be the first guys in the country to test drive their new online store. We were given R500 and told to go shopping – shopping, I love that word.

We had a delicious lunch and cocktails like it was no ones business. Emma and I even had whisky in our coffee – yip, we figured we weren’t the ones flying us home (thank goodness) so why the hell not!

The site is so well laid out and so easy to navigate and it’s going to have so much on it to buy. You see not all their shops carry their full range but their site will, so that means you will have over 18 000 things to browse and choose from and the best part, there is a flat delivery rate of R35 no matter how much you buy AND it gets delivered to your house/office/flat/mom’s house/ you name the place and they will send it there. They will even deliver it to your nearest Mr P store.

I really think Mr Price is onto something awesome here, I have never seen such a cool and easy to navigate South African online store before, I really think they have done their homework and done it well. The stuff I ordered yesterday arrived THIS morning and in a cool box to boot. They also have a return policy, so if you don’t like something you send it right back. Easy peasy.

Look at all my neat stuff I got (the maxi skirt is so nice, lovely hangy material).

They also sent us home with a nice goodie bag. We got shoes, a t-shirt, sweets and a Magic Mouse, which Shane has already claimed.

Thanks again guys for everything. If you ever need a guinea pig again for anything, give me a call.

Hello Miss Amber

September 27, 2011

Last Wednesday Jo and I went to the Elle and Mr Price new talent show. We got see some amazing clothes, like the collection above, which was designed by one of my new friends that I have recently had the pleasure of making, Amber Jones. When I saw these pieces I was so happy because not only are they super pretty, but we’re going to be able to buy them from Mr Price in the very near future. High-5 anyone? Kateesh!

That denim shirt better watch it’s fancy back, because i’m coming to get it and i’m not taking no for an answer.
