So it’s nearly Christmas time, nearly time for everyone to shutdown their work computer, say good bye to all their work colleagues and get the flip out of the office for a few weeks. I love this time of year, you can feel the air change and the spirit of the holiday season giddy-up into town, I love it.
Ok so I got super spoilt by the team over at Dear Rae. WOW. I received a beautifully packaged ring yesterday with loads of photos of their new Let’s Go Tropsi Collection, which is really pretty and delicate and made up of glints of gold, native shapes and lavish colours that come through in the use of precious stones. I’m a huge fan of Dear Rae’s creations, in fact every time I wear any Dear Rae piece that I own, someone asks me where it comes from. I find everything that they make so simple and unfussy, but really eye catching and beautiful at the same time and I’m super happy with my awesome ‘delicious monster’ ring that they sent me, which I definitely think needs some friends, because they look so good stacked.
The other day Grazia magazine visited me at my house. They came to take pictures of what I would wear to a Christmas party that I would host. Now, those of you that know me well, know that I’m not a very dressy-up kind of person. I don’t wear heels and I like to feel comfortable and myself at all times and so I opted for a long black skirt, my new top from Country Road, which I love because the shoulders are puffy and I flipping love puffy shoulders (don’t ask me why). I also decided to wear 3 of my favourite local designers, Jane Sews shoes, a bracelet from Skermunkil and a necklace from Dear Rae.
So I thought I would show you guys the insert (thanks Grazia) and show you my nice new top and some nice new sandals I picked up at Mr Price, incase you were looking for puffy sleeves and some new sandals xx
So it is nearly Christmas time, it’s nearly time for all of us (hopefully most of us) to go on holiday and forget about all work related responsibilities and just eat as much food as humanly possible. Well, this is at least what I plan on doing in the the next couple of weeks, for a couple of weeks.
But before I stock up on elasticated waist pants for the holidays, I thought I would host one final bonanza of a giveaway on my blog just to say thanks to all the awesome support that you have shown this Lucky Pony over the years AND to showcase some of my most favourite favourite LOCAL designers, whose stuff I think is beyond awesome and would all be very welcome in my present stash.
I went to the Sanlam Food Wine Design Fair in Hyde Park on Thursday night and I treated my eyes and my stomach to some very nice things. This years fair was bigger and and even better than last years and all I can say is that I’m sad that it only happens once a year, would be cool if it was ever few months.
Just saw Dear Rae’s luxury range on my friend Andrew’s site. I thought the pieces and photos were too pretty now to share with you guys. She will be selling this line at the Food Wine Design Fair this weekend, so if you’re going to visit, you should stop and say hi, maybe try one or two shiny things on.
There are 2 pieces that I love, the little red point ring and the grey one just below. They’re all beautiful, but those are my favourite. I also think the wreaths they made for this photo shoot are amazing. Nice nice nice.
