How to spend a Saturday. Get 2 friends, eat cake then buy some motherfing stuff.

February 11, 2013

On Saturday I went shopping with 2 of my friends, we were high on chocolate cupcakes and thought we would go spend some cash monies. We all did alright, we came back with a few bags of things and I thought I would share some of the stuff with you guys, just in case you were on the lookout for say some socks that have wolves on them.

I bought some socks – yes I have a small obsession with socks amongst lots of other things (below is only a third of my sock collection).

I went into Topshop to have a look at their socks. They have such fun pairs to choose from, the patterns and colours are all over the place it’s so awesome. I picked up 2 pairs whilst I was in there, one that reminds me of the kid from About A Boy (one of my most favourite movies) he would definitely wear them and one that reminds me of one of my kids – Wolves. I wanted to buy like 7 other pairs too, but I held back.

I also picked up this sweet little gold and cream ‘A’ ring.

Bought this pretty navy blue jersey. I really like the knit and the colour and I personally don’t think one can have enough navy things in their wardrobe.

Another purchase I made, which I’m now having second thoughts about is this handbag. I thought I liked it, but I think I can live without it.

Don’t you hate it when that happens – you buy something, convinced that you like it but when you get home and you see in it your ‘home light’ you don’t want it anymore. It’s like it had a different feeling in the shop. Well anyway I have no doubt that I will be changing it and probably walking out with something in it’s place.

I also lugged home this pretty off-white jersey from Country Road – ok so I guess its’s safe to say that I have a mild obsession with jerseys too. Oh well I am who I am.

The last thing I bought was a Amber Jones t-shirt from Mr P. I met Amber quite a while ago and she is one of the nicest people ever, just such a sweetheart. I love the work she does for Mr P and I’m super looking forward to wearing this design of hers.

New home stuff

October 5, 2012

It’s been a good week for the Durrant house. It’received lots of new things, which I’m going to share with you guys in case you feel like spoiling your dwelling a little bit.

A little while back I ran a giveaway with Room Online and to say thanks they sent me one of their rabbit cushions, which arrived on Wednesday. It’s big and rabbity and oh so wonderful. I have been eyeing these guys out for a while now, so I was very happy to get one  – thank you so much ladies, my couch and I are very chuffed.

New.

May 22, 2012

I just bought this black and brown corduroy bag from Country Road. I kept passing it every time I went in, so last week I decided it needed to come home with me. It reminds me of the pants I used to wear when I was 6 and a couple feet shorter than I am now and I really like that you can wear it as a sling bag or carry it by it’s mini handle up top, like a lady who means business, or something like that.

I also found this very cool leather purse at Woolies. They come in black, red and tan and they are super well priced for the leather bowed awesomeness that they are, I paid R275 for it and it matches my new bag perfectly. Now all I need is to buy me some new monies for them both.

anybody else buy anything super cool over the weekend?

Shiver me coat.

May 9, 2012

Ok so the title of this post makes no sense. I can’t even blame it on me being drunk, because i’m not. Oh well.

I just wanted to show you my new winter coat that i’m so super chuffed with. I bought it from good old Country Road yesterday and it’s everything that I want in a coat. Good material. Navy. Wooden buttons. Hooded. Warm and the best part is it’s never going to form those little round balls of material that make things look like they came out the bottom of a bargain bin in Boksburg.

This is the first ever proper good quality coat I have ever purchased, which is weird, seeing as i’m alsmost 480 years old in dog years. Wowzers.

I’ve been looking around for coats, if you are interested Forever New and Zara have some goodies…

Ok i’m off to Parys for the afternoon. Going antique shopping. High-5 to the life of a freelancer slash unemployed. Oh boy.

New things to make me feel a little better.

April 16, 2012

For a while now Shane and I have been battling to get a bond for a flat that we found about a month ago, that we both fell in love with instantly. We have been going though such trauma with every single bank and SA Home Loans, they have all denied us twice and all because we are freelancers and because we own our businesses. We have tried everything to get this place and it’s been quite an emotional journey, which has now come to an end, leaving us without the flat of our dreams and all because we’re out here trying to make it for ourselves. Not sure of any of you have been through the same ordeal, if you have, you know that it is not awesome. It’s draining and frustrating and no matter what solution you come up with, it’s just not good enough. And we’re not even asking for that much, which is the worst part. If any of you have experienced this, all I can say is, I know how you feel….

So on Friday, after the last bank called us and denied the bond once again I decided to take myself to the shops and give some of my money to people who actually wanted it. I know this seems like a weird way to deal with something like this, but I just kind of thought, stuff it. So Shane got a bunch of cool stuff and I came home with these few pieces.

Found this pretty silk blouse with a print made out of leopard heads. I love the pattern and I love the little gold button detail on the collar. Thought it was such a nice touch. I found this guy at Zara.

Another thing I snagged was this grey jersey from Country Road that I have been eyeing out for quite some time now. It’s so comfy, I think it’s going to be one of my favourites this Winter.

I also brought home this paisley silk blouse, which also comes from Zara.
