Chain gang

January 17, 2011

As you know I collect ceramic animals. I have a lot of them the more unfortunate the better. Some of them come in a little family unit, where there is always a mom and 2 kids lovingly chained together forever and a day. I’m obsessed with finding them, I have 7 families all together, I forget to shoot the 7th one this morning, I was in a rush, but here are the other 6 in all their chained glory. The chubby squirrel family is my most favourite.

If anyone has a gran, mother or flamboyant uncle that has a set of these, I will pay you to rob them. I’ve even designed a friendly mask that you can print out and wear.

Wednesday what a nice day

September 25, 2008

Shane and I found this little art deco cabinet in a cool little second hand furniture store. We paid R450 for it. I think we got a good deal. It’s going to go up in our new kitchen, in our new flat, when we one day find it. ha!

All the little goodies on top of it were also bought yesterday from the Voortrekker Antique Fair. Don’t they all look super good together? i’ll answer this one for you – YES.

The little yellow dogs are Lucia ware, we thought a matching pair would be nice. We found them in 2 different shops, but they’re identical, like twins separated at birth. The clock is from the 70’s. The bunnies are salt ‘n pepper shakers, I like them a lot and the jugs are just plain pretty. All in all the day was a huge antique hunt success. We even bumped into our nice friends Jelena, Foolish, Kezia, Sean and Sandra. We all shopped and then we ate flippin ugly. What a nice day.

Mr Svensk Foringer.

September 19, 2008

I’ve just come back from Sweden, yip that’s me, international. Anyway, we were walking to a flat party (which just by the way, was totally awesome) when I looked to the right of me and saw this handsome fella in the window. I immediately ran into the shop and asked, how much for the dog in the window. The owner gave me a price and I flippin paid it. just look at him. He is so awesome. Well done Angie. Well done.
