gran-deer2

Here are 2 more awesomes that I got from my granny – now I know where I get my obsession from. Both of them broke in the move, which is a damn tragedy, but I superglued them back together again, so all is well in ceramic land.  *the regal looking lady at the top of this post is my granny in the 1950’s.

salt-pepper

I bought this awesome old school looking salt and pepper set from a shop in the Cape Quarter in Cape Town. It’s quite nice there, a little too fancy for my liking, but nice non the less.

And then this little guy was given to me by my friend Gina King. she ordered it on e-bay a year ago and only got it now. Awesome. The funniest thing is how it has been described on the invoice by it’s previous owner – “cross eyed deer”. It sure is. He’s as squint as the day is bright and not dark. shame.

ceramic-animals

here are 3 of my smallest ceramic animals. the first pretty came from gina king, i have about 4 similar ones in my cabinet, the 2nd one was given to me by a lady who was looking after a shop in CT. she told me that it wasn’t for sale, cause it didn’t have a price tag on it. i was clearly super disappointed. i kept walking past it and looking at it (i had never seen one like it before), so before i left she called me over and gave it to me hee. and the 3rd one, stubbs bought me, cause she knew i would freak out when i was holding it my giant hands. thanks ladies xxx

choppie-1 bokkie

karenistic gave me these 2 little deer on friday night just because she’s a nice friend. i’ve named them choppie and bokkie, after her and her boyfriend frank. hehe. it’s so nice how they use to be 2 little deer who never knew each other, but now love each other. sweet. If only ceramic animals could have babies.

Say hi to Maximillion. Hello.

maximillion

This graceful creature was given to me by my friend Adrianos. He was a Christmas gift and I love him very much. Ii’ve called him Maximillion because he’s the most expensive ceramic animal that I own. He’s pretty much like a gold Toblerone.

Many many posts ago i put up a picture of my little grey deer (above right photo, deer to the left) and now i’m posting up it’s brother. Yes they are the same, but not. Yes they are awesome and mine. Yes I’m the luckiest girl on earth because I have friends like Jo who looks out for things like this for me. Thanks Jo for finding one of the most unusual bambies I have ever seen and then giving it to me x x
