Claire

March 4, 2011

These beautiful photographs were taken by a beautiful girl called Claire that I met a long time ago. My friends David and Adrian bought them for me for my birthday a few years back and I have just rediscovered them now. They are so well thought out and shot, I can’t say which is my favourite because I like them all so much, they make me feel so happy and young, don’t ask me why.

Don’t you think this such a cool project?

The other day I spent all my ebucks on books off Kalahari. I was so chuffed that everything that I wanted added up to almost exactly how many ebucks I had. It was meant to be. I’m going to tell you about them, that way you’ll be able to maybe get yourself one or buy one for someone, after all books are such awesome gifts.

The first book I ordered is New York Trilogy by Paul Auster, have any of  you read any of his novels? He is an exceptional story teller and this is one of my most favourites of his. If you are looking for a good interlinking story then read NY Trilogy. I used to have a copy but then someone lent it and never gave it back, I understand though, it’s that good.

After reading Scar Tissue (quite a few years ago) and the Motley Crue autobiography, I have become totally hooked on these types of books, I find them so absorbing, so it only seemed right that I got to know Ozzy, Keith Richards and Led Zeplin’s stories. I’m starting with Ozzy, so far it’s pretty good considering it’s written by a man who’s brain probably looks like a bowl of diced apples and cinnamon. I will let you know how it goes.

Then I bought the Russian Criminal Tattoo Encyclopedia volume 1. Wow the illustrations and photos in this book are awesome. Danzig Baldaev who worked as a warden in Leningrad prison started drawing the tattoos of the inmates, his collection comprises some three thousand six hundred images. Some of them are really dark, others super cool and then some are just plain hectic, I left those out of this post, I don’t want the hectic police busting down my door.

*Love the bear playing the accordion, I wish they really did such things.

And then last but not least I bought The Selby – shoo what a good buy! This book is full of fascinating people and their houses. The book tells a bit of a story about each character and then shows you pictures of where they drink their tea or lay their heads etc etc. Again such a goodie, Gina King get this book, you will love it!

Man, I thought I collected a lot of things, I don’t. Geez.
