Food Wine Design Fair 2012

November 26, 2012

On Saturday I went past the Food Wine Design Fair in Hyde Park. I arrived with an empty stomach and went home with a happy food baby, amongst other things. I tried out all sorts of food from roasted pork belly, to raviolli, to frozen yoghurt, to oysters, to 5 YEAR OLD ham from Spain. Yip you read right, 5 year old ham which was was delicious, expensive but delicious.

Even though the weather was crappy it turned out to be a very cool day and I came home with 2 very pretty things – scroll down to see. If you have never been to the fair and you love things like food, drink and objects that have been designed by designing geniuses, then you should definitely make a trip past it next year.

Made By Hank

October 30, 2012

These pretty bags are made by Katie Henry under her label Made By Hank. I came across them last night whilst searching for pretty things on the internet. I think I hit the jackpot when I saw these. They are so super nice that I had a hard time just picking a few that I liked, so I’m just going to show you my top 15.

Love that she uses different patterned material on the inside of the bags.

GIVEAWAY: Back to school we go.

January 9, 2012

I’m presuming that the majority of you have all started work today. So to kick off the new year I asked my cousin Caleb if he would give me one of this super cool Chapel satchels to give to one of you as a “back to school” present. Like when you were a kid and your mom took you to get squeaky new shoes and new books. I’m not going to lie I hated doing that, I hated the feeling that I had a whole year of school ahead of me. Blegh, I still have school/exam nightmares. You know the ones where your head is too big for your body and you have a major maths exam that you haven’t studied for and you have no idea where any on your notes are because as far as you can remember you haven’t been to class in months. I feel woozy just typing it. But hopefully this satchel will bring one of you some joy this year while you slog it out at work/university/school/home. it’s perfect for laptops, i-pads and stuff.

If you are wanting to buy one you can pick them up at Wolves or the Neighbourhood goods market, they go for ± R760.

This fancy emerald green one is up for grabs – you know what to do, leave me a comment and for an extra entry you can tweet or blog about it and then post the link into a comment to let me know. Good luck guys, a winner will be drawn on the 27th of January xx
