A while pack I got a parcel from the guys who are setting up the Capitec Swapping Mall taking place from the 30-31 of July at Studio 4, Atlas Studios Johannesburg. The idea is simple and pretty cool if you ask me – you bring your old nice stuff that you no longer want or use and swap it for someone else’s nice stuff that they no longer want or use. So you’re going to leave home with something and come home with something, without having spent 1 cent, that sounds about right. The parcel I received had these sweet little vintage cufflinks in them, I sent 2 parcels back, a ceramic horse and a boat charm, wonder who will land up with them… I’m actually very keen to see what kind of stuff is going to be at this event and keen to see if I can’t eye out some gems to drag home to my den of many things.
Maybe I’ll bump into some of you there, it’ll be funny if i’m holding something that you’ve bought to swap.
