This week I’m happy to introduce you guys to a very talented friend of mine, Ross Garrett. I think this gentlemen is the most talented photographer in the country and those of you who know who he is and are familiar with his work, will no doubt agree with me.

Name: Ross Garrett

Questions:

1. What city do you live in, and how long have you called it home? I live in Johannesburg. I’ve called it home for pretty much 34 years.

2.What do you do? I’m a photographer

3. What is one of the raddest things you have done wearing a pair of jeans? Pretty much my entire existence is in a pair of jeans. One time, I walked on a lake of ice in New York State. That’s the raddest recent memory I have of me in jeans. I also saw The Felice Brothers and Jeff Mangum whilst wearing my jeans.

4. If you could live in someone else’s ‘jeans’ for a day who would that person be? Bob Dylan.

5. What is the one thing/person that influences your style the most? I’ve always been a fan of a uniform. I wear jeans and a shirt and sometimes a jersey or jacket to keep me warm.

6. Would you rather have Shrek feet for ears or humming jellyfish? The answer is 42.

My very talented friend Ross Garrett is having a solo exhibition from the 7th to the 9th of October in Illovo. He seriously is one of the best photographers my eyes have ever ever seen (he took our wedding pictures). Do yourselves a favour and come have a look at his work, you won’t be sorry you did.

A few months ago Este and I completed a campaign for Exclusives Books for their Lekkerleesfees Festival. Here are the 3 posters that we came up with and executed, with the help of the awesome team from Injozi (the talented Ross Garrett took our pictures for us). We didn’t have much time or money for this campaign, but we really liked how they came out in the end and apparently so did the Pendoring’s judges. Hee.

So I hear you asking, what is the Pendorings? Well it’s an awards show that celebrates Afrikaans advertising and it was held on Friday night in good old Midrand, where we actually won a gold Pendoring AND some sweet sweet cash money, whohoooo that I have already succesfully spent in my head. So my weekend was pretty cool, how about yours?

Shane and I have been married for a whole month today. Here are just a few of the pictures Ross Garrett took on our wedding day. Need I say more? No I didn’t think so, he truly is a genius ‘magic box’ snapper. This day was the most perfect day ever. We-are-awesome and I are currently working on a new Levi’s series called Live in Levi’s®, where we feature different people who literally live in Levi’s®. Last week I posted some photos of Nikki Taylor in some very cool Levi’s gear and now I’d like to share a video interview we shot with her at her lovely flat in Illovo. Nikki is an art director at TBWA Hunt Lascaris and an all round lovely face.
