Cafe Del Sol Olivedale

May 26, 2014

There is a family run restaurant called Cafe Del Sol in Olivedale that my friend Nick told me about quite a while ago, he said that this place has the best Italian food in Johannesburg. I love Italian food, lets face it I love all food, but if it’s coated in pasta then even better! So Shane and I went to go check out Cafe Del Sol and boy we were happy we did. But be warned you have to call ahead and book a table because it’s pretty damn popular, but once you take your first bite of whatever you have ordered off their menu, you’ll understand why.

Cafe Del Sol’s starters, mains and desserts will have you smiling the whole way through. I can literally count on one hand just how many restaurants I’ve been to where I have been impressed with everything that has been bought to the table and this place is one of them. The last time we went we had Shane’s family with us, so I got to take photos of everyone’s food and I also got to taste everyone’s food hee. But I loved mine the most. I had their Lemon Prawn Pasta, which is amazing, you have to try it and the Pavlova is hands down the best Pavlova I have ever tasted and don’t be tempted to share it, you’ll be sorry!

So if you’re looking for a night out where your stomach will be high-5ing all other organs in it’s vicinity, then go to Cafe Del Sol.

And no, my high praise is not becauseI have shares in this place, I wish, I just think is a nice restaurant to eat at.

Address: Cnr Olive & Cnr President Fouche Roads Olivedale Corner Shopping Centre.

Check out their new establishment Cafe Del Sol Botanico here.
