Naked Coffee

March 10, 2016

After a fellow blogger approached me about doing a collaboration, I thought I would start something new on my blog whereby I review a place and then one of my blogging friends reviews a place in their city and then you guys get to learn about two new spots all in one post and maybe find a new blog that you’d like to follow.

To kick this series off I’d like to introduce you to the lovely Luna who hails from the windy city of Port Elizabeth and runs a cool little blog called Luna life Magazine. She paid Bocadillos a visit and wrote about it on her site so if you’re keen to check her and it out, all you have to do is click here.

I’m always on the look out for new little nooks and crannies that open up here and there. I’ve always loved the idea of a window that you can just saunter up to order, then collect your coffee which you then sip and skip off into the sunset with.

I paid Naked Coffee in Melrose Arch a little visit the other day for the first time, Shane was looking for some new t-shirts and we wondered into this quaint cafe which is tucked away in a cool looking store that stocks some some nice gems from Scotch and Soda and the likes.

We looked around a bit and then decided to have lunch, we shared a panini with prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes and lettuce and a whole-wheat wrap with pulled chicken, fennel slaw, mascarpone and onion chips. We also had a flat white and a hazelnut chocolate shake.

The coffee was really nice, it had a distinct nutty flavour to it which I really liked. The shake was delicious, I nearly sucked the whole thing down in one go, I had a brain freeze for a solid four minutes afterwards. The panini was really nice and tasty, but the wrap was a tad on the dry side which wasn’t a train smash, not everything can be perfect all the time.

So if you are in Melrose Arch and are looking for a place to to just grab a quick, non -fussy bite to eat and a good cup of coffee give Naked Coffee a try. There is also seating inside if you want to spend a bit of time away from your office while you sift through Reddit or Snappy Chatty or whatever the kids are into these days.
