It’s almost Mother’s Day 2020, a Mother’s Day that I don’t think a lot of us are going to forget, just like this whole year I’m sure.
I was thinking about all these types of events coming up and how differently we’re going to have to celebrate them, it’s crazy to think that only a few months ago the world was literally an entirely different planet!
Anyway, I thought I’d share some ideas for nice Mother’s Day gifts in this blog post because we have loads of amazing local designers in this country, making beautiful things that need homes! And even though we can’t buy stuff now, we can still support them by perhaps buying vouchers or items online that can be delivered at a later stage.
I have included links for all the pretty things below, in case you’d like to forward this post on to your significant other.
You will find an array of items from clothes to jewellery to baking boxes and more. As I said, some things are made by local designers and some not, but all items will definitely complement any handmade macaroni card perfectly 🙂
Enjoy and Mother’s Day 2020 xxx

These absolutely amazing throws from Something Good Studio are beyond beautiful! I would kill for any of these, as each one is as awesome as the next.

Those throws would look so good with you nestled under them in either of these jerseys. I feel like I need them both hee.

Another great idea is to perhaps buy a piece of art from a local artist. These paintings by Sarah Grace are just so beautiful and she is selling a range of them at a special rate during the lockdown. You should definitely check them out.

These gorgeous pieces of jewellery are made by Sadie and Jean. I’ve actually ordered the ring on the top left because I love it so much, bought it for myself, because why the hell not.

The Skin Creamery makes such wonderful products that anyone would love! You can buy products or vouchers.

Who would be sad if they got a stash of beautifully packaged Ma Mere Confections? Absolutely no one.

This is also such a cool idea from the Lion Heart ladies, they are now making and selling gourmet bake boxes from their new start-up called Bake Box. Love this idea and it would make such a great gift.

Spotted these beautiful dresses on Superbalist, which I love! I especially love the rust one, such a great colour! These with a chunky jersey on top for Winter will be so pretty!

Another great local skincare range is Lulu & Marula. Always such a treat using their products.

This quirky sleepwear by Nightire is oh-so-comfortable, unbelievably soft and temperature-regulating too! I have a pair and I really love them!

Here is another great South African artist you can look into, Amy Ayanda. She has a beautiful collection of prints and originals for sale.

This is also a sweet idea that I spotted on Karen’s Instagram page. A virtual family shoot by Robyn Oosthuysen a local family photographer. Such a cool way to document this strange time…
