This Jean-Michel, he is one stand-up guy and a nicer person I don’t think you’ll ever meet. I asked him to be part of our Levi’s and Me project and of course he said yes because he’s the best.
Last week’s Levis and Me: Ty Morrison
New person is up on Andrew’s site too, check out Russ by clicking here
Questions:
1. What city do you live in, and how long have you called it home? Joburg. It’s been my home for 24 years. I love this city
2.What do you do? I am a band booking agent and manager (Shortstraw, Goodnight Wembley, Al Bairre, Beatenberg, Anchors Up, Julian Redpath), DJ under the name Half ‘n Half (isn’t everyone in JHB a DJ?), and freelance designer and artist. Basically I’m a busybody.
3. What is one of the raddest things you have done wearing a pair of jeans? Probably the most fun thing was playing in a caravan at last years Grietfest in Johannesburg. There was a flash hail storm and 30 people crammed into the caravan and we still kept the party going. I was DJing in a corner and we ended up breaking the caravan floor. I was something special!
4. If you could live in someone else’s ‘jeans’ for a day who would that person be? Questlove, the drummer from the Roots. His music history knowledge is astounding and the man has been hustling in the music industry for years. I’d love to learn some of his tricks.
5. What is the one thing/person that influences your style the most? Clean lines, good design and simplicity. If you’re talking a person, probably Brandon Boyd (Incubus lead singer) with a dash of Tom Ford thrown in for good measure.
6. Would you rather be the world’s tallest person with the smallest hands or the world’s shortest person with the biggest feet? Definitely the latter. The tallest person is like 2 meters something tall (that’s crazy big). And you know what they say about big feet right…
