This weekend I went to Parys for a wee bit with my mom and dad, who live in Zimabawe, so I don’t get to see them too often, which makes me very sad. We had to go fetch some stuff from there for my dad’s work, so I didn’t have much time for all the shops, but I did managed to gather a few beauties before I whizzed home with my folks and a bag of flipping fatty biltong mmmmmmmmmm. There is a new shop that has opened up in town that has so much cool ‘junk’ in it. I was like a kid in an antique store, ok let me re-write that sentence cause that doesn’t make any sense – I was like an Angie in an antique store. Yes, better.
The beautiful pale blue and brass sweet bowl below, came from there. I love this colour combo, there is something about this shade of blue that makes me feel like a baby bird in a nest of amazing. The stamp on the back says Kendal, Old Foley, I think, unless my eyes deceive me. I wish I knew more about stamps and names and stuff. I guess I could Google it. Yes I could.
I found this pretty deer print, which is a nice add to my picture collection.
And then I also bought this little skunk. Look at her, she can spin all the way around her mini jungle gym. She was hiding behind a bunch of stuff in the store, but I managed to sniff her out and now she’s sitting happy in my cabinet at home. There is no stamp on her, just a mark of awesome.
Picked these 2 sweet little rose and gold plates up for a steal. R20 each. I also found an amazing old school farm house metal sieve, which I forgot to take a picture of, I will post that one up tomorrow…

I think you did pretty well on the limited time you had
xx
why thank you friend and fellow fat sack/couch lover x
What a nice weekend!
I love all your little finds, especially the little skunk – he’s like the most adorable little fluff ever. Your little comment about him + the photos made me laugh so I thought I should share my thoughts. Ha.
=^_^= xx
what’s the name of the shop? planning a little daytrip out to parys this weekend and would love to check it out!
hi there, i have no idea. i think it was near the absa building on the main road. It has lots of old vintage squeaky toys in it, you will definitely run into it if you stick to the main road and explore every shop 🙂 That’s the best part x
awesome! thank you, i look forward to it! have a good eve and keep warm 🙂
I also love that shade of blue, especially when it comes to crockery. It makes my feel like I’ve stolen a Disney Princess’s dress and re-upholstered my plates with it.
