Holy ship this is awesome!

October 4, 2010

When Jo and I went to Durban a few weeks ago we went to a pretty little restaurant and antique store called The Church House (I think). It was such a awesome day for everyone. I bought this amazing art deco ship mirror for a friend of mine who asked for it – she’s so lucky I handed it over to her. I was seriously thinking about sailing into the night with it and denying I knew her every time she called me to find out when she could come pick it up. If you have ever seen one of these mirrors you’ll know how super awesome they are and this one is perfect. Jo also found a beautiful vintage engagement ring. Her one was unfortunately stolen a few days prior, but this one was in this very antique store just waiting for her. Antique rings are like a bag full of only pink jelly tots; amazing. And I walked away with a belly full of chocolate pot with whipped cream, which was so damn good. I personally think I came up the winner out of these 3, but I won’t tell them that, I don’t want to hurt their ring and ship feelings…

Hi there, I luuuurv your blog and the antiques you have collected, what stunning places you visit!!!
Please could you let me know where abouts that shop in Durban is (can’t find “The Church Shop” when I searched). Do you have any idea where I could find an antique/old bicycle for display? and do you have any idea how much something like this goes for, it is very urgent – props for a wedding this saturday! eek 😉

    Many Thanks
