Since having two kids our laundry feels like it has literally tripled, even though the extra member of our family is only a tiny tot! In our house there is always laundry being washed, hung up and ironed, it’s like Groundhog Laundry Day. I don’t often do product reviews on appliances on my blog, but I was really interested in this particular machine called a Spindel which is a laundry spin dryer promising to remove excess moisture from laundry so that it dries faster and feels softer.
At first, when it arrived at my house I was a bit skeptical, I wasn’t sure that this device that looks a bit like R2-D2 was going to make any difference, but I’m happy to say that I was wrong! And before I continue with this post I’d like to make it clear that I have not been PAID to write a positive review about this device, I was given one BUT this post contains my honest opinion about it.
The Spindel is really compact, which immediately was a plus for me because the space next to my washing machine wasn’t big enough for a tumble dryer, but this little guy slotted right in there! It’s also really nicely designed so it blends into its environment, there are no big flashing lights or garish accessories and here’s the best part, it actually does what it says it’s going to do, which is remove up to 80% of all moisture from clothing in 3 minutes whilst using 100 times less electricity than tumble drying.
I did a test to see if it would actually make a difference to the drying period. I took a fresh load of laundry then only spun half of it in the Spindel before hanging it all up to dry. The clothes that I spun dried a hell of a lot quicker and felt softer than the ones that didn’t get a spin. In my life, you have no idea how much this helps, especially when you’re going through babygrows and mini pants like Pacman on a sugar high. That analogy totally makes sense! I think the part I like the most about it is that it doesn’t take long either, a couple of minutes and you’re done, some items even came out so dry that they were ready to be ironed. So, all in all, I would say that this spinning machine is a win especially if you’re not into having laundry taking forever to dry, all it’s missing is a soundtrack, preferably ‘You Spin Me Round’ that plays every time it’s in action!
Ps: Takealot has them on special on Spindels today if anyone is keen to get one!
