The Family Acid by the famous archivist and creative Roger Steffens is a limited edition photographic book spanning 40 years of Steffens’ life. Culled from over 40,000 chrome photographs taken in the 1960s and 70s, The Family Acid presents Roger Steffens‘ life. Beginning with his work in Vietnam and moving through his circle of friends and characters made up of rastas, beatniks, musicians, artists, gonzo journalists, his family, and himself.
People were so much radder looking back in the day, it’s like they woke up, rolled out of bed and were instantly cool. Also photos of the past make me so happy, I love looking at them, collecting them and making up my own stories about the people in them. I definitely want to buy this book, think it’ll be an awesome thing to page through every now and then.
I also found Roger Steffens Instagram feed, which is curated by Kate Steffens. It features 40+ years of slide photography and it’s such a cool feed, you should check it out.
