Every year at Design Indaba there is an expo that happens were many talented people gather to show their talented stuff which is then skillfully acquired by talented credit cards far and wide. I didn’t have a lot of time to walk around, but I managed to snap a few pictures of some very cool stuff, that I wish was sitting nicely packed in my suitcase right about now. I bought a couple of things, but I think i’m going to go back tomorrow after a good nights rest to see if I can damage my card a bit more.
This was, I think one of the coolest looking stands there. The majority of it was covered in that classic plastic carrier bag material. I bought one of their tot bags, it’s not plastic, the pattern is the same but it’s made out of nice soft material. I really like it a lot.
These awesome little guys are made by Tanya Laing at Sootcookie Ceramics. Really dig the bears. She also makes the prettiest plates that look like good old paper plates, they are thin and delicate and so very very nice.
These were 3 of my most favourite rings that I saw. I didn’t buy any because i’m not really a ring person, but I think somewhere along the line i’m going to need and want a wolf one. Obviously. The gold one at the top is made by Anthi Voyatjes, in really life it’s just as precious and gold, really liked that piece. And the next 2 are made by the one and only Skermunkil, aaaa too too clever.
I also bought a top from Coppelia. AND I actually got to meet the genius in person for the first time. She must of thought I was a nutcase the way my eyes lit up when I introduced myself. I have been buying her clothes for years now and I proceeded to tell her that while I shook her hand wildly – little does she know that I think she’s so awesome I would make her peanut butter sandwiches everyday for the rest of her life is she wanted. Lucky for me she is never going to read this, so no restraining orders are in my near future. Shoo.
Also got to go past Field Office to say a super quick hi and bye to my dear and wonderful friend, Will. Whilst there we got to see what was left of the She and Him t-shirt expo – very cool. Dave bought the beauty with the crazy hair. Also stopped into Church for 4 minutes. Its completely changed since the last time I was there. Click here to see. I like this shop. It’s little things make me very very happy, like Fanta grape through a straw.
