I went away to Hluhluwe with my folks and Shane over Christmas, as I mentioned in a post below, we stayed in a very nice place called Toad Tree Lodge. Anyway I took my good old Fuji instax with and snapped some wide shots of us at Sodwana Bay. Have any of you ever been there? Wow, what a weird weird beach. There were 4×4’s everywhere and tractors pulling boats and super brown people snorkeling and lazing around. It looked like a giant movie set, but we managed to find a nice quite spot to wade in. It was the deepest I have ever been in the sea, for real! I’m not a huge beach/sea person, the water actually scares me.Yes I am one of those people that can’t even be in a swimming pool alone because i’m convinced there is a high possibility that I will be attacked by a shark. But I put on a brave face and I went into unprotected waters nogaal (not sure how to spell that afrikaans word ha, sorry). It was warm and calm and so super awesome and I’m still alive, so all in all it was an awesome day.

I know it sucks to be back after holidays but I am very glad you are back so you can delight me with your stories and pictures and finds (very selfish of me I know!)
Sodwana rocks the party for snorkeling, very pretty fish there! When I was a diver i used to go there and dive deep under the sea, and once a shark was circling above our dive group and we had to come up early. We were lucky we didn’t get eaten.
Don’t worry, my older sister also doesn’t dig water of any kind but this year she overcame her fear and swam in the pool all on her own (sans kreepy krawly, those things are scary to anyone!)

I am the same … teehee! We were in Mauritius and I was snorkelling in the “shallow” bits … never kept my head underwater for longer than 2.5 seconds because I had to keep checking the surface for a shark-fin closing in for the kill!
