Chicken Licken?

October 7, 2011

Ok so it’s Friday and Este, Ryan and I are starving. We feel like we haven’t eaten anything in like 4 days, which is such an exaggeration of note, but hey. So here is the question – is it socially acceptable to eat Chicken Licken at 10:32 in the morning? Because it’s happening and I don’t think I can stop it. In fact Este’s going to get her car as I type this.

What is about some days that make you just want to eat anything that is put down in front of you? Right now I would kill for a giant bowl of chops and a 10-seater dinning room table made out of potato salad. Mmmmmm.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off in Illovo.

October 4, 2011

So tomorrow night kicks off our very first ever Bacardi slash Wolves Movie Night extravagancer and we’re starting with Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. There will be beer and wine and cake popcorn and only one of the best movies ever. So come on down to Wolves tomorrow night, grab a seat and enjoy a movie with us. It’ll be fun like when you were a kid and you insisted on staying up until midnight to have a midnight feast, that lasted like 7 and half minutes before you passed out from exhaustion. I loved those days.

Above is one of the best scenes from the movie, makes me want to get on a parade float and dance my little cholesterol clogged heart out.

Abracadabra.

September 30, 2011

On Wednesday night I went out to supper with some friends of mine to The Orient in Melrose Arch, anyway at the end of our dinner when we were all busy ordering coffee, the guy sitting at the table next to us turned to my friend Candice and said “pick a card”. We all looked at him and then I pointed at his face and said “Its’s you, you’re David Blaine“. He was like “no I’m not” and I was like “yes you are”. And so to cut a semi-long coverstation short, it turns out I was right, it was David Blaine and we got to be part of some magic tricks for like half an hour. I’m not going to lie guys, he was amazing. I just couldn’t see how he was tricking us, I actually think he could of been using real magic, well that or he had an invisible man midget who was strapped to the bottom of our table switching things in and out for him. I watched with all my eyes and I just couldn’t see how he was doing stuff.

*I find it so funny that we all look like vampires in the first picture.

The R2 coin below was bent by myself, Bridgette and Julia using just the heat of our hands, or so we were lead to believe. All I know is, he asked us for a coin, pushed it into my hand, made me make a fist then placed the other girl’s hands over mine and while I squoze, they pushed and then BAM the coin was bent. I mean unfortunately it can’t be used ever again in any vending machine ever, but I guess it was worth it ha!

We were tricked and not just once a few times, it was flipping crazy! When we were talking about him outside the restaurant, we actually double checked to see if he wasn’t levitating somewhere behind us in a cloud of magic smoke listening in.

So yes we got to see David Blaine, he bought us each a shooter and gave us signed cards and now we can say that not only have we met Robert Pattinson at Melrose Arch (remember this hee), but David ‘Abracadabra’ Blaine too. Lucky lucky us x

Mini Wolves and t-shirts that will make your teeth take over your face.

September 27, 2011

On Saturday we opened a mini Wolves at the Str Cred party happening in town. For the event Shane and I actually arranged for 20 different artists to design a t-shirt and then Wolves, together with Wrigley’s 5 Gum had them made into real life. The collection is crazy amazing guys! We got some really cool people to draw us stuff and I was so proud to have our shop’s name on the lable. And here is the raddest part, there is only a limited edition of 21 t-shirts per design available, so once they have sold, that’s it.

We sold a few on Saturday, but the rest will be hanging up in Wolves, so come have a look for yourself. Thanks to everyone who came to say hi on Saturday, to all the artists (you guys are to genius), to Wrigleys and to everyone who helped make mini Wolves happen, thank you, thank you, thank you x xxx

*To see the shirts bigger, just click on the photo, you will also see the artist’s name on the lable opposite the shirt. And they are R200 each, in case you were wondering.
