African Bazaar

This is a photographic project that I have really been wanting to share with you guys and now I finally can! Near the end of last year Adi and I under Churche worked together with the awesome folk from The Spanish Coalition on a little project called African Bazaar. Working with the team behind this and the amazing Emy (I mean how beautiful is she?!) was such a treat and I’m so happy with the end result. Please let me know what you think of it, I would love to hear your thoughts.

The Spanish Coalition’s (who are a great little advertising agency if you’re looking for one) concept behind this project is really cool – African Bazaar’ was inspired by the informal economy of this city. This catalogue exhibits some of the bizarre and miscellaneous things you can buy in and around the streets of Jozi.

Cotton On Kids Little Reindeer Academy

I always love shooting style posts with Nina James, she’s become such a trooper and I’ve learned that if I’m patient and have a couple of marshmallows in my pocket she’ll play along with me. Cotton On Kids sent her the sweetest little outfit the other day with a bit of information about Cotton On Kids Little Reindeer Academy, which involves a whole family of cute looking reindeer, fun in-store activities, face painting, movies and more. So when mom is going goo-goo-ga-ga over things like this pom-pom tulle skirt then the kids are happy and entertained.

We hopped onto our roof yesterday afternoon with a bit of confetti and a small supply of the good stuff (marshmallows) and I took some shots of her running around in her new get-up. Everything she is wearing from top to bottom is from Cotton On Kids except for her shoes. She loves this skirt so much, I think if she could she would sleep in it, it’s so sweet how happy it makes her. Shame by babs.

So NJ’s New Years outfit is sorted, I, on the other hand, are going to be so big I may have to wear my duvet with some fairy lights wrapped around it as a belt! Hehe.

Rebecca Taylor Spring 2017

Oh my word Rebecca Taylor’s Spring 2017 collection is so pretty! I always try to imagine what it would be like to walk into a store and be confronted by rails full of clothing just like this. I actually think I would probably lose my mind and start grabbing at stuff in case it all suddenly disappeared or I woke up and realised that I was in fact dreaming.

I love all the frills, prints and long dresses that make up this collection and I wish it could all be mine! Miiiine!

Kimmy & Bear clothing

I’m so excited to show you guys this shoot that Churche did for Kimmy & Bear’s first ever clothing collection inspired by their childhood. We were briefed by the team to come up with something whimsical and pretty and so we built three giant animals made out of real foliage that became props and playing companions for everyone on set. We really enjoyed working on this shoot because all the little models and clothes were just too beautiful for words!

The new collection comes from the fact that when the three sisters that make up Kimmy & Bear were young their mom used to dress all of them in matching outfits that she made from patterns very similar to the amazing little outfits you are going to see now. The collection is reminiscent of those sweet childhood memories that we all have tucked away in some forgotten place. It also makes me wish that I had magical witch powers that turned children’s clothes into big people’s clothes! What about us Kimmy & Bear?!!

Dear Rae Fancy Pants Collection

I have often blogged about Dear Rae’s beautiful work because I truly believe that they are one of the best local jewellery designers in the country. They make things that make you would rob a bank for just so you can have everything in a collection. Just recently they released their new Dear Rae’s Fancy Pants Collection which consists of diamond rings designed in unique and playful ways that come in an array of unusual cuts and colours and in true Dear Rae style they do not disappoint!

I must warn you that before you scroll down you’re probably going to cry whilst looking at this collection because you can’t have all of it. I think in my case it may be time to pull the old ‘I’m carrying your baby for you, buy me a diamond ring’ card! I wonder if that will work….Hmmmm….
