Pretty apartment in Norrmalm Sweden

March 14, 2016

Norrmalm-apartment

A friend of mine is renovating their house so every time I come across a place that I like I send her the link, just for fun and because I love looking into other’s peoples houses. I came across this beautiful two bedroomed apartment in Norrmalm in Stockholm. This place possesses such an awesome mix of modern and and vintage touches, I really like it a lot. I also really like all the velvet couches and chairs, there is something so lush and fun about them.  Continue Reading…

Chez Marie Sixtine

March 4, 2016

chez-marie-sixtine-13

I haven’t done an interiors post in a while so when I came across this beautifully curated apartment called Chez Marie Sixtine that belongs to the French fashion label Marie Sixtine on My Domaine and Miss Moss, I couldn’t help but post it here too.

The place is what my dreams are made of…the use of old and new fixtures, the wallpapers and the mix of grey and pastel colours, which make for a perfect and unexpected colour combination. The cabin-like bed also reminded me of our own bedroom which made me love it even more.

Dulux Vizualizer app

October 25, 2015

Dulux Visualizer-45

How many times have you walked into a room in your house and thought to yourself “Hmmm I wonder what this wall would look like grey, or blue or canary yellow?” If you are anything like me then you’ve had this thought on more than one occasion and that’s why I’m pretty excited to tell you about the new Dulux Vizualizer app and a special giveaway that I’m hosting that could have you winning R1500 in Dulux paint and a Loads of Living voucher valued at R2000 that you can use to redecorate any room in your house. Nice hey?

But first let me start by telling you a bit more about this nifty app which I think is a pretty cool idea and a quick and easy way to realise that perhaps canary yellow is not the best colour for your dining room. This is how it works – you can either take a photo on your phone of the wall you are thinking about changing and then recolour it or you can use the real time option which allows you to hold your phone up to the wall or space you’re considering painting before choosing a colour from the Dulux range and then watching it change instantly. It’s actually really easy to use and the results give you a pretty awesome idea of what the room and your new colour choice is going to look like.

Barcelona apartment

Roberto Ruiz Tyche 07

Shane sent me a link a few days of a renovated Barcelona apartment situated in an early 1900’s building. It’s restorers aimed to retrieve its Art Nouveau essence through the restoration and recreation of original features. They have kept the design pretty minimal but have used awesome pops of colour in every room to really make the space fun and interesting. I think it’s such a great apartment, I love the exposed brick ceiling, all the colour blocking and the yellow they used in the bathroom, so nice!

Old French apartment

July 13, 2015

french-apartment-9

We went to Paris a couple of years ago on holiday, it was my second time in this beautiful city and I did the same thing I did the last time I was there, I would look up at all the buildings and apartment blocks and imagine who lived in them and what those places looked like inside. I always wish I had a special license that allowed me to just go onto people’s houses to see what they look like, I’m such a quizzy Lizzy that way. But how cool would that be? Then you would be able to see places like this beautiful 19th-century apartment, which is located in the historic centre of Bordeaux, France. Just imagine waking up in front of those windows everyday.

Industrial space

June 30, 2015

loft-apartment-amsterdamn

I always dream about the day that Shane and I will happen across a curious looking building for sale, like a rundown Scout hall, a church or an old garage like the glorious Industrial space below. Yip you’re looking at an old garage that has been converted into a home with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dressing room and a large open-plan living space and it’s located in central Amsterdam.

The genius behind this beautifully decorated home is interior architect James van der Velden. This is the space he gets to call home every single day in possibly one of the most picturesque places on the planet. Bet you his life doesn’t suck.
